Employment Performance Management System
(EPMS)
 


The State of South Carolina requires that each agency develop the employee Performance Management System (EPMS) for their agency.

The purpose of the EPMS is:

  1. To provide an accurate and objective method to evaluate employees; 

  2. To improve the work performance of employees in order to enhance efficiency and productivity for The College of Charleston;

  3. To assist management in assigning work and delegating responsibilities based on mutual understanding of the employees skills and abilities;

  4. To encourage continued growth and development of all employees;

  5. To provide documentation to support recommendations for salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions and dismissals.


In summation this evaluation system helps to identify the employees major accomplishments, areas needing improvement, and steps to improve present and future performance.
