How to begin? Choose a subject. The subject is not necessarily controversial by itself.
It will help your research if you have an interest in the subject. Is the subject something you feel passionate about? If so, your research will interest you and your final paper or presentation will express that passion.

Thesaurus Tutorial. Many databases contain a thesaurus, sometimes also called "Subject Terms," that allow you to build your search using the language, or terms, that the database uses. If you aren't getting any results from searching databases, try constructing your search using the thesaurus or subject terms function. That language can be quite different from the natural language used to search Google, or other indexes for the "visible web."
