Research emphasis: Ecology and evolution of fishes; ichthyology; population genetics; fisheries science

Current and planned research projects: 

  • Red drum, cobia, and American shad: population structure; recruitment limitations; migrations; estuarine fidelity; stock enhancement
  • Striped bass: conservation genetics; population restoration; thermal stress; habitat partitioning
  • non-lethal technologies for aging and sex determination for a variety of fishes
