Jonathan Craft received a Link Foundation/Smithsonian Institute Graduate Fellowship and a Lerner-Gray Grant for Marine Science.
Daniel Fernandes was awarded the 2010 Grants in Aid of Research Program (GIAR) through the Society for Comparative and Integrative Biology (SICB).
David Shiffman's blog post placed second in an internet-wide science writing competition, which resulted in an interview on NPR's 'The Pat Morrison Show'. He was also nominated for a College of Charleston ExCEL award in the Outstanding Graduate Student category. David also won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 2010 Graduate Student Research Colloquium at the College of Charleston.
Samantha Smoot was awarded the Patricia Dudley Fellowship at UW-Friday Harbor Laboratories.
Mark Stratton received financial awards from both the Slocum-Lunz Foundation and the Lerner Gray Fund of the American Museum of Natural History to perform some experimental work titled "Nitrogen isotopic composition of amino acids in red drum (Scianops ocellatus)."
