Scholarships and Financial Aid
All graduate students have access to general financial aid and the scholarships
listed below. Some programs have developed awards specific for those programs,
and those can be found in the Graduate School Catalog.
- Federal Financial Aid Loans - These loans are processed through
the Office of Financial Assistance and Veterans Affairs. Eligibility for
the loans depends upon student-supplied information on the financial aid
(FAFSA) application form.
- Young Alumni Scholarship - The Young Alumni Scholarship is awarded
to a member of the Young Alumni Associates who, as a recent graduate of the
College of Charleston, is presently a student in a master’s program at The
Graduate School of the College of Charleston. The award is given in recognition
of his or her academic achievements, extracurricular contributions, both on
and off campus, and any post graduate involvement which reflects positively
on the College of Charleston.
- Research / Teaching Fellowship at Université de Versailles/Saint Quentin -
The Graduate School has a student exchange agreement with the Université de
Versailles/Saint Quentin which affords an opportunity for graduate students
to teach English and do research at the Université, which is located in the
southwest suburbs of Paris. Entrance to the program is competitive, usually
with one student being chosen per academic year.
- The Graduate Scholars Award - this award is made to new students only
and is aimed at increasing geographical diversity within the graduate population.
The award is $250. Non-resident students receiving the award are eligible for
resident tuition rates for the period during which they receive the award.
Financial Aid counselors are available to assist students with the financial aid
process and in identifying sources of financial aid. Information about The Graduate
School financial aid services can be found on the
Financial Aid website.
