As always MESSA will seek to make this racer even greener and more environmentally friendly than previous races. The top 3 winners in each race division will be awarded a prize!

All race proceeds are donated to a local non-profit working to improve water quality. Last years recipient is the Coastal Conservation League. If your organization is interested in becoming a recipient of the 8K for H2O contact this year's race director, Stefanie Simpson. 2009 - Over 300 racers & donated over $3000 to the Coastal Conservation League! 2008 - $4000 donated to the Friends of the Edisto (FRED). Over 250 runners participated! 2006 - Donated to LEEP - Lowcountry Environmental Education Program 2005 - Almost 200 racers, $3000 raised and donated to Lowcountry Earth Force 2004 - Over 200 participants and $3800 donated to Lowcountry Earth Force 2003 - The first annual event! $2500 donated to Friends of the Edisto |

Awards
8K Road Race awards to top overall M/F winners. This year awards will be water bottles!
Age group awards to top 3 in each division; M/F - 17 and under, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+.
Food and beverages will be provided for all registered participants.

8:00 am • Late Registration
9:00 am • 8K run; Timed event
9:05 am • 5K walk; Untimed Event
10:30 am • Award Ceremony
Race Packets and T-Shirts
Race packets and T-shirts may be picked up on Race Day starting at 7:45 am at the registration tables located near the Folly Fishing Pier on Center Street. If you don't indicate a shirt size on your registration, you'll get a large.
Due to scheduling and course permits, the race is RAIN OR SHINE! No refunds. No exceptions.
