The Physics, Astronomy and Meteorology Club
Now under new management!
Welcome to the College of Charleston Physics, Astronomy & Meteorology club (don't worry we are not officially changing the name to the "PAM Club" so you can continue with the jokes of the "P Club"). We are a student group open to all members of the college community who are interested in Physics, Astronomy & Meteorology; as well as research related to these diverse and interesting field. This includes Physics majors, but the club is open to all students. If you are a physics major then you are automatically in the club. With any luck we yet may turn this club into a lively, active organization. With the many advances in physics & astronomy, now is an exciting time to be a physics major, but not as cool as the future will be of course. Astronomy is enjoying unprecedented levels of research and intellectual activity. Physics is exploring nature at the deepest level with the advances in quantum field theories like super string and manifold theory, and celebrates revolutionary breakthroughs in atomic and molecular technology. A recent President said that the next century will be the century of molecular biology. We think the next century will be the next big boom for physics. This generation of Americans were raised on Star Wars and Star Trek. We all long for pocket sized super computers, Matter Transporter, Warp Drives, Intelligent Robots, Light Sabres and more. We will be those people that bring these things into the real world using Physics! If this sounds appealing to you then stop by the hub of the PEA club in room 104a of the science building and talk with our members.

We do more than hold meetings (as a matter of fact we rarely hold meetings!). Here are some of the major aspects of our group:

  • Student Services: Grad School, Survival Guide, Research, Physics References, Our Office, and the Undergraduate Computer Lab.
  • Events: Calendar of Events & Past Events.
  • Club Info: Officer Contact List, Officer's Meeting Minutes, and Student List.
News: well, we are waiting for something newsworthy.
