Come one come all... to the MPASA Habitat Build on Saturday, December 15th, from 8:30 to 12:30 (yes, that's 8:30 in the morning...)
We're going to help build a house for a needy Mount Pleasant family. It doesn't matter if you're a student, professor, staff member, friend, or family member. It doesn't matter if you are an expert spackler, or (like me) you're not even quite sure what 'spackling' is. We would love to have your support!
The house is in Mount Pleasant, near Awendaw, so we're running a carpool from downtown. RSVP for details on the carpool or (if you'd prefer to drive) directions to the build.

Quick Updates: I got an update on the house we're working on today, and there are two things we're possibly doing. We could be priming the house with paint primer, or we could be doing some general work outside of the house. There is a chance we could get white paint primer on our clothes, so dress accordingly.
- Because the Habitat staff is going to a banquet at noon, our service is ending a little early...11:30 am, instead of 12. We'll work from 8:30 to 11:30, then eat our pizza and drink our cokes on the porch of the house after that. For those of you that want to carpool, we're going to meet outside at the back of the Addlestone Library at 7:45 SHARP (near the doors into the library). You can park in the AD parking lot adjacent to the library all day for free. From Calhoun Street, just turn onto Pitt Street (which runs along side the library), then take the first left into the AD parking lot. There should be plenty of space, considering it's a Saturday morning after exams are over. Once we're there, we're going to divide up into cars and caravan to the work site. We need to leave before 8, so it's really important you get there by 7:45am * Follow HIGHWAY 17 NORTH * Turn LEFT onto HIGHWAY 41 and follow for approximately 1 mile * Turn RIGHT onto JOE ROUSE ROAD (there is a brick sign for Park West on the corner) * Make the first LEFT to continue on JOE ROUSE ROAD (if you do not make the turn, the road turns into Bessemer and will take you into Park West * Make the first RIGHT onto JOSEPH GLOVER ROAD * ECHFH's property is the third parcel on the RIGHT - We're going to have free Domino's pizza, and some sodas, for lunch. You can bring your own lunch if you don't like pizza...crazy....It'll probably be a good idea to bring a bottle of water for during work, though, just in case it's 154 degrees again on Saturday... - If this changes, I'll let you know, but my sources tell me that we will be working in the interiour of the house. So don't worry about spilling paint or anything like that on your clothes, but, of course, you'll probably want to leave the nice clothes at home If anything else comes up, I'll send out another e-mail.
