Wendell Mitchell Levi Photographs

Wendell Mitchell Levi (1891-1976) was a graduate of the College of Charleston (1912) and the University of Chicago Law School (1915). He was commissioned First Lieutenant in charge of the United States Army Signal Corps for the South Eastern Department during World War I. After the war, Levi practiced law in Sumter, South Carolina and helped establish the Palmetto Pigeon Plant. During his life, Levi wrote and edited works about pigeons, and amassed a large library of books about the birds. His pigeon science library was later donated to the College of Charleston. Levi's papers are also part of the college's collection. In addition to his library, it includes personal and business correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia. The following photographs are from the Levi papers.
